Dishwasher faults we fix
Not draining
Water stays in the bottom after the cycle. Usually a blocked filter, a kinked or blocked drain hose, a blocked sink connection or a failed drain pump. Broken glass, bones, labels and seeds often find their way into the pump.
Not cleaning properly
Food left on dishes, gritty residue or cloudy glasses. Causes include blocked spray arms, a clogged filter, low water pressure, a weak wash pump, the wrong detergent or, in hard water areas, no dishwasher salt.
Not drying
Dishes come out wet. Often a failed heating element, an empty rinse aid dispenser, a faulty fan on fan-dry models or a fault in the drying sensor.
Not heating
Water stays cold during the cycle. A failed element, thermostat or temperature sensor. Scale from hard water can burn out elements.
Leaking
Water on the floor or swollen kickplates and cabinets. Causes include a worn door seal, cracked hoses, a leaking pump, a damaged sump, a loose spray arm or too much detergent causing foam.
Not filling
The machine hums but does not fill. A closed tap, a blocked inlet filter, a faulty inlet valve, low pressure or a triggered flood protection system.
Will not start
A door latch fault, a door switch, a control board, or a child lock set by mistake.
Error codes
Codes usually point to water supply, drainage, heating, leak detection or communication faults. Send us a photo of the code and the model sticker, usually on the side of the door.
Integrated dishwashers
Many modern kitchens have dishwashers hidden behind a cabinet door. Repairing them often means sliding the machine out of its space, which needs care to avoid damaging the cabinet door, kickplate, worktop and flooring. We disconnect, remove, repair and refit integrated machines carefully and re-check the door alignment afterwards.
Integrated dishwashers also tend to hide leaks. The first sign is often a swollen kickplate or a damp floor. If you notice either, switch off the machine and close the tap.

Is it worth repairing?
- Pumps, filters, inlet valves, door seals, spray arms, hoses and elements are affordable. Repair is almost always worth it.
- Control boards vary. On mid-range and premium machines, repair is usually worthwhile.
- Older budget machines with board failures or several faults may be better replaced. We will tell you honestly.
Looking after your dishwasher
- Scrape food off plates. You do not need to rinse them.
- Clean the filter every week or two.
- Keep salt and rinse aid topped up.
- Use proper dishwasher detergent, never dish soap.
- Run a hot cleaning cycle with dishwasher cleaner monthly.
- Check spray arms spin freely and their holes are clear.
- Do not block the spray arms with tall items.

Frequently asked questions
Why is there water at the bottom of my dishwasher?
Usually a blocked filter, kinked drain hose or faulty drain pump. Clean the filter first. If the water still does not drain, call us.
Can you repair integrated dishwashers without damaging my kitchen?
Yes. We carefully remove and refit integrated units and check door alignment afterwards.
Why are my glasses cloudy?
Cloudiness can come from hard water scale, too much detergent, no rinse aid, or etching from soft water and very hot cycles. Scale wipes off with vinegar; etching does not.
Do you repair all brands?
Yes. We repair all major dishwasher brands and are independent, not an authorised agent of any manufacturer.
Need dishwasher repair?
